PersonA minister of Pasenadi who, unlike his displeased colleague Kāḷa, rejoiced at the king’s great almsgiving and was later asked by the king to give alms himself for seven days, becoming a Stream-winner.
A minister of Pasenadi. When Pasenadi held his Asadisa-dāna, Juṇha rejoiced in the king’s generosity, but his friend Kāḷa was displeased at what he considered as waste. The king, hearing of this from the Buddha, asked Juṇha to use the royal revenue to give alms on his own account during seven days. This Juṇha did. He became a Stream-winner (sotāpanna) after hearing the Buddha teach. DhA.iii.186 ff.
