Kaṇḍakīvana
PlaceAlso known as Kaṇṭakīvana
Một khu rừng gần Sāketa nơi Sāriputta và Đại Mục-kiền-liên có cuộc đàm đạo được ghi lại, còn gọi là Tikaṇḍakī, nơi chính Đức Phật cũng từng lưu trú
v.l. Kaṇṭakīvana.– A grove near Sāketa. The conversation that took place there between Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna is recorded in the Padesa Sutta (S.v.174 f). A discussion which took place there on another occasion between these two and Anuruddha, is given in the Kaṇḍakī Sutta (S.v.298 f). The grove was evidently also called Tikaṇḍakī and the Commentary describes it as mahā-karamadda-vana, karamadda being a shrub (carissa carandas).
The Buddha also stayed in this grove, and a discourse taught by him to the monks is recorded in the Tikaṇḍakī Sutta (A.iii.169).
