Kakkaṭa

An eminent monk numbered among a group who stayed with the Buddha at the Kūṭāgārasālā in Vesāli and withdrew into the woodlands when the Licchavis came to pay their respects.

An eminent monk mentioned, with Cāla, Upacāla, Kalimbha, Nikata and Katissaha, as staying with the Buddha at the Kūṭāgārasālā in Vesāli. When the Licchavī started coming there to pay their respects to the Buddha, the monks, desiring solitude, went into the woodlands nearby, such as the Gosiṅgasālavanadāya. A.v.133 f.
