Khallāṭanāga

Ein König von Sri Lanka, Sohn des Saddhā Tissa, der das Kloster Kurundavāsoka erbaute, bevor er von seinem eigenen General getötet wurde.

Son of Saddhā Tissa and younger brother of Lañjakatissa. He was king of Sri Lanka (50-43 B.C.).

Among his religious works was the construction of the Kurundavāsoka-vihāra.

He was killed by the general Mahārattaka. Khallātanāga’s wife was Anulā, and his son was Mahācūlika. Mhv.xxxiii.29 ff; Dpv.xx.12 f.
