Kinti Sutta

Sutta

一部經,於拘屍那羅宣說,佛陀勉勵比丘修習念處等更高教法,並訂立處理僧團中就法義文辭發生爭執者的準則,經名取自佛陀開示時所說的首句。

Taught at Baliharaṇa in Kusinārā. The Buddha tells the monks that they should school themselves in the higher teaching taught by him, such as the four foundations of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna), the four bases of success (iddhipāda), etc., and lays down rules on the treatment of monks who dispute about the meaning and letter of the doctrine and of those who are guilty of transgressions. The sutta derives its name from the first words (kin’ti) uttered by the Buddha in beginning the discourse. M.ii.238 ff
