Kosambiya Sutta
SuttaAlso known as Kosambaka
一部经,佛陀为憍赏弥城中不和睦的比丘众讲说六种和乐共住之法,包括身语意的善意、财物共享,以及导向证悟真理的内省。
Taught at the Ghositārāma in Kosambī to the quarrelsome monks of that place.
The sutta deals with amity and the six means of promoting it —
acts of goodwill,
kind words
kind thoughts
sharing all things with one’s fellow celibates,
living the higher life in its entirety, following the doctrine that leads to the destruction of suffering,
and introspection, which leads to the realisation of truth (M.i.320 ff; cp. Upakkilesa Sutta M.ii.152 ff).
The Kosambaka Sutta is given (e.g., in DA.i.123) as an example of a discourse originating from a quarrel.
