Kuddāla-paṇḍita

One of six famous teachers of the past, renowned for their pious and holy lives, who attracted numerous followers and were reborn in the Brahma-world after death; his story, in which the perfection of wisdom was developed, is told in the Kuddāla Jātaka.

He is mentioned in a list of six famous teachers of the past, who were well-known for their pious and holy lives. They had numerous followers and, after death, were born in the Brahma-world (A.iii.371, 373; iv.135).
The Kuddāla-birth was one in which the perfection of wisdom (paññā) was developed (J.i.46).
