Otherမဟာဝိဟာရ (Mahāvihāra) ၏ နယ်နိမိတ်များကို ဖျက်ဆီးပြီးနောက် ကနိဋ္ဌတိဿ (Kaniṭṭha-Tissa) ဘုရင်က တည်ဆောက်ခဲ့သော သီရိလင်္ကာရှိ ရဟန်းသီတင်းသုံးကျောင်းတန်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး၊ နောက်ပိုင်းတွင် မဟာသေန (Mahāsena) ဘုရင်က ပြန်လည်ပြုပြင်ခဲ့ကာ၊ ကုက္ကုဋါရာမ (Kukkuṭārāma) ဟူ၍လည်း လူသိများသည်
A row of cells built by Kaniṭṭha-Tissa after he had demolished the boundaries of the Mahāvihāra (Mhv.xxxvi.10).
They were later restored by Mahāsena (Mhv.xxxvii.15; MT.678).
The place is also referred to as the Kukkuṭārāma (e.g., Mhv.xxxvii.15).
