A monk from Dāmahālaka whose teaching on the merits of giving rice gruel inspired King Saṅghatissa to institute a regular distribution of gruel to monks at the gates of Anurādhapura.

From Dāmahālaka. King Saṅghatissa heard him one day teach the merits of giving rice gruel, and thereupon instituted an abundant gift of rice gruel to the monks at the gates of Anurādhapura. Mhv.xxxvi.68.
