Maṇicūḷaka Sutta
SuttaUn discours sur un fonctionnaire royal qui, entendant à la cour de Rājagaha la rumeur que les moines bouddhistes étaient autorisés à accepter de l’or et de l’argent, la nia, puis, s’étant renseigné auprès du Bouddha, obtint confirmation que les moines ne doivent ni rechercher ni accepter de tels dons.
In the royal palace at Rājagaha, the report once arose among the retinue that Sakyan recluses were allowed to accept gold and silver. The headman Maṇicūḷaka, who was present, denied this, but, being unable to convince his audience, he sought the Buddha, who assured him that these monks were allowed neither to seek nor to accept gold and silver.
