Nava Sutta
Sutta托鉢から戻った沙弥が、袈裟を縫うのを手伝わずに黙って座っていたことが仏陀に報告され、その沙弥の証得を見抜いた仏陀が、彼は努力せずとも四禅を得られるからと比丘たちに邪魔しないよう告げる経。
Once a novice, returning from his almsround, entered his cell and sat down in silence and at ease, not helping the monks with the robe making.
This was reported to the Buddha, who sent for the monk.
The Buddha discovered his abilities, and told the monks to leave him alone as he was one who could win, without toil, the four absorptions (jhāna) (S.ii.277).
