အဠက နိုင်ငံ၏ မြို့တော်ဖြစ်ပြီး ဗာဝရီ၏ တပည့်များ သာဝတ္ထိသို့ ခရီးလှည့်လည်ရာတွင် ဖြတ်သန်းခဲ့သည့် ပထမနေရာဖြစ်သည်၊ ရှေးပထဝီဆိုင်ရာ ပိုင်သန်နှင့် တူညီသည်ဟု သတ်မှတ်ထားသည်

The capital of Aḷaka, the first place to be passed by Bāvarī’s disciples on their way to Sāvatthi (SN.vs.1011).

It is identified with the Baithana or Paitana of Ptolemy.
