Paṃsukūlapūjaka
PersonAn Arahant who, long ago, was pleased at the sight of a rag-robe hanging on a mountain and offered flowers before it; his verses are cited in commentarial discussion of two other elders, with whom he may be connected.
An Arahant. Ninety-one world-cycles ago he saw a rag-robe (paṃsukūla) hanging over the Udaṅgaṇa mountain, and being pleased with the sight, he offered before it three kinkaṇi flowers (Ap.ii.434).
His Apadāna verses are mentioned in the Theragāthā Commentary in connection both with Gosāla Thera (ThagA.i.79) and with Mahākāḷa Thera (Ibid. 272).
