An Arahant. Eighteen world-cycles ago he met Atthadassī Buddha and gave him a pilakkha fruit (Ap.i.296, repeated at Ap.ii.410).

His Apadāna verses are, in the Theragāthā Commentary, attributed both to Dhammapāla Thera (ThagA.i.326) and to Passika Thera (ThagA.i.355).

There may have been two of the same name.
