깨달음을 얻은 지 여덟째 주에 부처가 상인 타팟수(Tapassu)와 발리카(Bhallika)로부터 쌀떡과 꿀 공양을 받은 나무이며, 그 자리에 훗날 탑이 세워졌다.

The name of a tree, at the foot of which the Buddha received a gift of wheat and honey from the merchants Tapassu and Bhallika in the eighth week after the Enlightenment (Vin.i.3 f; J.i.80; BuA.p.9.).

A thūpa was later erected on the site of the tree. Beal, op.cit., 129.
