Sāmaṇḍaka

A wandering ascetic who questioned Sāriputta about Nibbāna and, on another occasion, about weal and woe.
v.l. Sāmandakāni, Sāmañcakāni.– A wanderer (paribbājaka), mentioned (S.iv.261 f) as having visited Sāriputta at Ukkacelā (Ukkāvelā) and questioned him regarding nibbāna, and again (A.v.121 f) at Nālakagāma, where he questioned him regarding weal and woe.
He is, perhaps, to be identified with Sāmaññakāni.
