パセーナディ（Pasenadi）王の国象で、彼に関連して仏陀が特別な説法をされた。白色であったためこの名がついた。

The state elephant of Pasenadi, on whose account the Buddha taught a special discourse (A.iii.345). He was so called because he was white (AA.ii.669; cf. ThagA.ii.7).
