Sunidha

Person

A minister of Magadha who, together with Vassakāra, fortified Pāṭaligāma against the Vajjīs and, after hosting the Buddha for a meal, named the city gate by which he departed Gotamadvāra.

A minister of Magadha, who, with Vassakāra, was in charge of the fortifications of Pāṭaligāma, built in order to repel the Vajjī. These two are always mentioned together.

They invited the Buddha to a meal, and, after his departure, named the gate by which he had left the city Gotamadvāra, and the ford by which he crossed the Gaṅgā, Gotamatittha. Vin.i.228 f; D.ii.86 f; Ud.viii.6.
