One of the three divisions of the Tipiṭaka, comprising the five collections — the Dīgha, Majjhima, Saṃyutta, Aṅguttara, and Khuddaka Nikāyas — the first four being closely related in character, with a number of discourses appearing in more than one of them.

One of the three divisions of the Tipiṭaka. It consists of five collections (nikāya):

Dīghanikāya,

Majjhimanikāya,

Saṃyuttanikāya,

Aṅguttaranikāya

Khuddakanikāya.

The first four are homogeneous and cognate in character. A number of suttas appear in two or more of them.
