Taraṇiya

An arahant who, in a previous birth, ferried the Buddha and his monks across a river in flood, becoming king five times thirteen aeons later under the name Sabhogavā, probably identical with the elder Sambhūta.

An Arahant. In a previous birth he took the Buddha and his monks across a river which was in flood. Thirteen world-cycles ago he became king five times under the name of Sabhogavā (Ap.i.204 f).

He is probably identical with Sambhūta Thera. ThagA.i.47.
