Jātaka

本生故事,重述另一则条目中关于一位诡诈之人的故事,用以譬喻一位同样生活诡诈的比丘,此故事亦见于巴尔胡特佛塔浮雕。

The story of Uddālaka given above. It was related in reference to a monk who led a deceitful life.

The monk is identified with Uddālaka. (J.iii.232).

The Jātaka is depicted in the Bhārhūt Tope (see Cunningham, Plate XLVI).

On the same occasion were taught the Makkaṭa, Kuhaka, and Setaketu Jātaka stories.
