Personカピラヴァットゥのサキヤ族の家出身の阿羅漢比丘尼で、菩薩の宮廷の侍女として仕えた後マハーパジャーパティー・ゴータミーとともに出家し、仏の光明の一条に諭されて洞察を得た
She was born in a Sakyan family in Kapilavatthu and became a lady of the Bodhisatta's court. Later, in the company of Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī, she renounced the world and entered the Order.
One day, while she was meditating, the Buddha sent forth a ray of glory and admonished her. She, thereupon, developed insight and became an Arahant. Thig.v.10; ThigA.12f
