Vājapeyya
Other注釈書で二通りに説明される祭式で、一つは人々に優しく心地よい言葉で挨拶することであり、もう一つはソーマ酒を飲み十七頭の動物を十七回にわたって捧げる祭祀である。
A sacrificial offering; the Commentaries (e.g., ItvA. 75, 76) give it two interpretations:
Greeting people kindly with soft and pleasant speech (peyyavajjam, piyavācatā);
A sacrifice in which Soma (Vāja) is drunk.
In the second seventeen animals are offered seventeen times.
