Vegaḷiṅga

A township in Kosala where Ghaṭīkāra, friend of Jotipāla, lived, and where the Buddha, during a long stay in Kosala, visited the monastery in which Kassapa Buddha had once taught Jotipāla and there himself taught the Ghaṭīkāra Sutta.

A township (nigama) where lived Ghaṭīkāra, friend of Jotipāla (S.i.34, 60).

The township was in Kosala, and once, during his long stay in Kosala, the Buddha visited the monastery (ārāma) in which Kassapa Buddha had taught Jotipāla, and there he himself taught the Ghaṭīkāra Sutta. M.ii.45 ff.
