A Nāga king of the Gaṅgā who, after Nārada Buddha converted the Nāga Mahādona, hosted the Buddha at his river palace, an occasion on which eighty thousand men were ordained.

A Nāga king, who lived in the Gaṅgā. When Nārada Buddha converted the Nāga Mahādona, Verocana invited the Buddha to a palace which he had built on the river and entertained him and the monks with great ceremony. Eighty thousand men entered the Order after having heard the Buddha return thanks on this occasion. Bu.x.12; BuA.154 f.
