菩薩が大出離の際と同様に過去世でも王位を捨てたことを示すために語られた、ある王子についてのジャータカで、後に古代インドの浮彫彫刻やシンハラ語詩において記念された。

A Jātaka about a prince, told to illustrate that the Bodhisatta had likewise renounced royal status in former lives as he did at the Great Renunciation, and later commemorated in ancient Indian relief sculpture and Sinhalese verse.
