대출가 때와 마찬가지로 보살이 과거생에서도 왕위를 버렸음을 보여주기 위해 이야기된 한 왕자에 관한 자타카로, 후에 고대 인도의 부조 조각과 싱할라어 시가에 기념되었다.

A Jātaka about a prince, told to illustrate that the Bodhisatta had likewise renounced royal status in former lives as he did at the Great Renunciation, and later commemorated in ancient Indian relief sculpture and Sinhalese verse.
