딱까실라에서 배워 종교적 걸식자가 된 바라나시의 바라문으로서의 보살로, 훗날 왕의 요청에 따라 왕실 정원에 살면서도 아무리 권해도 왕에게 아무것도 요구하지 않았다.

The Bodhisatta as a brahmin of Bārāṇasī who studied at Takkasilā and became a religious mendicant, later living in the royal garden at the king’s request but never asking him for anything even when pressed.
