摩偷罗国王，因其母为阿槃提国巴殊陀王之妹而得名，曾拜访大迦旃延（对话即《摩偷罗经》所记），此后皈依佛陀教法。

The king of Madhurā, so named because his mother was the sister of King Pajjota of Avanti, who visited Mahā-Kaccāna and, per the discourse recorded as the Madhura Sutta, became a follower of the Buddha’s teaching.
