ヴェッサヴァナに十二年間仕えたことへの褒美として、後にアーユヴァッダナ・クマーラと呼ばれる少年を授かった夜叉だが、少年の死が定められた日に仏陀が守護のために居合わせたため目的を果たせなかった人物。

A yakkha who, having served Vessavaṇa for twelve years, was granted the boy later known as Āyuvaḍḍhana Kumāra as his reward, but was thwarted by the Buddha’s protective presence on the day set for the boy’s death.
