안다까윈다에서 라자가하로 가는 길에 부처님을 만난 설탕 상인으로, 승려들에게 설탕 한 단지를 공양했고, 남은 설탕을 물에 부으라는 말을 듣고 타닥거리는 소리를 들은 뒤 삼귀의를 하여 재가 신자가 되었다

A sugar dealer who, meeting the Buddha on the road from Andhakavinda to Rājagaha, offered a pot of sugar to the monks, and after being told to pour the leftover sugar into water and hearing it crackle, took the three refuges and became a lay follower.
