마할라나가의 아들로 24년간 스리랑카를 다스린 왕. 마하위하라 주위에 성벽을 쌓고 여러 사원을 세웠으며 투파라마에 저수지와 포살당을 지었다. 그의 아우 카닛타티사가 뒤를 이었다.

Son of Mahallanāga and king of Sri Lanka for twenty-four years, who built a wall around the Mahāvihāra, erected several monasteries, constructed a reservoir and an uposatha hall at the Thūpārāma, and was succeeded by his younger brother Kaniṭṭha-Tissa.
