コーサンビー近郊の市場町で、おそらくバッダヴァティーと同一であり、サーガタ長老が近隣のアンバティッタで凶暴なナーガを鎮めた後、仏がここに滞在した。

A market town near Kosambī, probably identical with Bhaddavatī, where the Buddha stayed after Sāgata Thera subdued a fierce Nāga at nearby Ambatittha.

ウデーナ（Udena）王所有の雌象で、元はチャンダッパッジョータ（Caṇḍappajjota）の所有物であった。ウデーナがヴァースラダッター（Vāsuladattā）と駆け落ちするのを助けたが、老年になって疎まれた後、仏陀の仲裁によって王家の栄誉を回復した。

A female elephant belonging to King Udena, originally owned by Caṇḍappajjota, who helped Udena elope with Vāsuladattā and, after being neglected in old age, had her royal honours restored following the Buddha’s intercession.
