욱깔라의 상인 따빳수의 동생으로, 형과 함께 깨달음을 얻은 부처님께 첫 공양을 올렸으며, 후에 교단에 들어가 아라한이 되었다.

The younger brother of Tapassu, a merchant of Ukkalā who, together with him, gave the Buddha his first meal after the Enlightenment; he later entered the Order and became an Arahant.
