  • 마가다국의 왕으로, 열다섯 살에 즉위하여 라자가하에서 52년간 통치하였다. 부처님이 출가한 후 빤다바 언덕 근처에서 두 사람이 만난 이래로 부처님의 가장 중요한 왕실 후원자 중 한 명이 되었다.

  • King of Magadha who ascended the throne at fifteen and reigned in Rājagaha for fifty-two years, becoming one of the Buddha’s foremost royal patrons after their meeting near the Paṇḍava hill following the Buddha’s renunciation.
