ලංකාවේදී ආනන්ද වනරතන හිමියන් යටතේ ඉගෙනුම ලැබූ චෝල දේශයේ උපත ලද්දෙකි. පසුව බාලාදිච්ච විහාරයේ ප්‍රධානියා විය. රූපසිද්ධි හා පජ්ජමධු ග්‍රන්ථ රචනා කළේය. චෝළිය දීපංකර ලෙසද හැඳින්වේ.

A native of Coḷa who studied in Sri Lanka under Ānanda Vanaratana, became head of the Bālādicca monastery, and wrote the Rūpasiddhi and the Pajjamadhu; he is also known as Coḷiya Dīpaṅkara.
