พระอรหันต์ผู้ในสมัยพระวิปัสสีพุทธเจ้าเป็นภูมิเทวดา เมื่อรู้สึกถึงแผ่นดินไหวขณะพระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จดับขันธ์ จึงตระหนักถึงความยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์และถวายความเคารพในใจ ภายหลังได้เป็นพระราชานามว่าสมิตะ ท่านน่าจะเป็นองค์เดียวกับพระเมฆิยเถระ

An Arahant who, in the time of Vipassī Buddha, was an earth-bound deity who, on feeling the earth tremble at the Buddha’s death, recognised his greatness and honoured him inwardly; he was later a king named Samita, and is probably identical with the elder Meghiya.

An Arahant whose heart was gladdened, long ago, at the sight of Siddhattha Buddha.

ฤๅษีในสมัยพระสิทธัตถพุทธเจ้า ผู้เมื่อได้ยินจากศิษย์ว่าพระพุทธเจ้าประสูติแล้ว จึงออกเดินทางไปเข้าเฝ้า แต่ล้มป่วยและสิ้นชีวิตด้วยจิตเปี่ยมศรัทธาก่อนจะเดินทางถึง ท่านน่าจะเป็นองค์เดียวกับพระวีตโสกเถระ

A hermit in the time of Siddhattha Buddha who, on hearing from his pupils of the Buddha’s birth, set out to visit him but fell ill and died full of faith before completing the journey; he is probably identical with the elder Vītasoka.
