一則本生故事，講一位愚昧的樹神不聽勸告，故意嚇走了原本因其存在而使樵夫不敢入林伐木的一獅一虎，結果樹林隨之慘遭砍伐，他此後想引回二獸卻徒勞無功，此事講述瞿迦利在侮辱舍利弗與大目犍連之後，試圖挽回二人卻枉費心力。

A Jātaka about a foolish tree-spirit who, against wiser advice, frightens away the lion and tiger whose presence had kept woodcutters from felling the forest, only to see the trees destroyed once the animals are gone, then tries in vain to lure them back, told about Kokālika’s futile attempt to win back Sāriputta and Mahā-Moggallāna after insulting them.
