부처님의 저명한 재가 제자로 불환과를 얻은 인물이며, 사왓티에서 수많은 대중에게 음식을 베푸는 관대함이 아나타핀디카에 필적하여, 그로부터 작은 아나타핀디카라는 별칭을 얻었다.

An eminent lay disciple of the Buddha and a Non-returner, whose generosity in feeding a vast multitude at Sāvatthi rivalled that of Anāthapiṇḍika, from whom he took his epithet ‘lesser Anāthapiṇḍika.’
