森の中で共に暮らす三人の比丘を仏陀が訪れ、瞑想を妨げまいとする侍者に最初は追い返されるが、その後三人の修行の成果を尋ね、共同生活の和合ぶりを称賛し、後にある神霊がそれは天界にまで名高いと確認したという経典である。

A discourse in which the Buddha visits three monks dwelling together in a forest grove, is initially turned away by their attendant fearing to disturb their meditation, then questions them about their spiritual attainments and praises the harmony of their communal life, later confirmed by a spirit as renowned even among the gods.
