王妃の見た黄金の鵞鳥の夢が、王をして鵞鳥王ダタラッタ（菩薩）を罠にかけさせるに至り、忠実な大臣スムカが彼を見捨てることを拒んだことで二羽とも自由を得た本生話。

A Jātaka telling how a queen’s dream of a golden goose led a king to trap the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, the Bodhisatta, whose loyal minister Sumukha’s refusal to abandon him won both their freedom.

鵞鳥王ダタラッタとして生まれた菩薩が猟師の罠にかかり、大臣スムカの献身によってのみ救われ、鵞鳥王は後にその忠誠を人間の王の寛大さを通じて報いた本生話。

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, is caught in a fowler’s snare and freed only through the devotion of his minister Sumukha, whose loyalty the goose-king later rewards through a human king’s generosity.
