왕비가 황금 거위의 꿈을 꾼 것이 왕으로 하여금 거위왕 다타랏타(보살)를 덫에 걸리게 만들었으나, 충직한 대신 수무카가 그를 버리기를 거부하여 둘 다 자유를 얻게 된 자타카.

A Jātaka telling how a queen’s dream of a golden goose led a king to trap the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, the Bodhisatta, whose loyal minister Sumukha’s refusal to abandon him won both their freedom.

거위왕 다타랏타로 태어난 보살이 사냥꾼의 덫에 걸렸다가 오직 대신 수무카의 헌신으로 풀려나며, 거위왕은 훗날 인간 왕의 관대함을 통해 그 충성에 보답한 자타카.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, is caught in a fowler’s snare and freed only through the devotion of his minister Sumukha, whose loyalty the goose-king later rewards through a human king’s generosity.
