දේවියගේ රන් හංසයෙකු පිළිබඳ සිහිනය රජු හංස රජු ධතරට්ඨ (බෝසතාණන්) උගුලකට හසුකරවීමට හේතු වූ, විශ්වාසවන්ත ඇමති සුමුඛ ඔහුව අත් නොහැරීම දෙදෙනාටම නිදහස ලබා දුන් ජාතක කථාවකි.

A Jātaka telling how a queen’s dream of a golden goose led a king to trap the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, the Bodhisatta, whose loyal minister Sumukha’s refusal to abandon him won both their freedom.

හංස රජු ධතරට්ඨ ලෙස උපන් බෝසතාණන් දඩයම්කරුවෙකුගේ උගුලකට හසුවී, ඇමති සුමුඛගේ භක්තියෙන් පමණක් නිදහස් වූ, හංස රජු පසුව එම භක්තියට මිනිස් රජෙකුගේ දයාව හරහා ත්‍යාග දුන් ජාතක කථාවකි.

A Jātaka in which the Bodhisatta, born as the goose-king Dhataraṭṭha, is caught in a fowler’s snare and freed only through the devotion of his minister Sumukha, whose loyalty the goose-king later rewards through a human king’s generosity.
