一部经，以“象足印”为喻说明妄下断语的危险，佛陀为婆罗门 Jāṇussoni 开示完整修道次第与果证，作为真正辨识佛陀的标准，此经也是摩哂陀在斯里兰卡所宣说的第一部经。

A discourse using the simile of an elephant’s footprint to illustrate the danger of premature conclusions, in which the Buddha teaches the brahmin Jāṇussoni the full path of practice and its fruits as the true marks by which a Buddha may be recognised, and which was the first sutta taught by Mahinda in Sri Lanka.
