붓다 시대의 Avanti 왕으로, 격렬한 성미 때문에 사나운 자를 뜻하는 Caṇḍa라는 별명을 얻었으며, 그의 황달은 의사 Jīvaka가 치료했고, 그의 딸은 경쟁자인 Udena 왕의 왕비가 되었다.
