佛陀时代阿槃提（Avanti）国王，因性情暴烈得绰号 Caṇḍa（意为“凶暴”），黄疸病曾由名医耆婆（Jīvaka）治愈，其女后来成为其对手优填王（Udena）的王后。

King of Avanti in the Buddha’s time, nicknamed Caṇḍa (“the fierce”) for his violent temper, whose jaundice was cured by the physician Jīvaka and whose daughter became queen of his rival King Udena.
