波吒厘子城一位大臣之子，是悉伽婆的朋友；两人一同依苏那伽长老出家，学业精深；他后来将经藏与阿毘达摩藏传授给目犍连子帝须。

The son of a minister of Pāṭaliputta and friend of Siggava, with whom he entered the Order under the elder Soṇaka and became highly accomplished, later teaching Moggaliputta-Tissa the Sutta and Abhidhamma collections.
