波吒釐子城一位大臣之子，是悉伽婆的朋友；兩人一同依蘇那伽長老出家，學業精深；他後來將經藏與阿毘達摩藏傳授給目犍連子帝須。

The son of a minister of Pāṭaliputta and friend of Siggava, with whom he entered the Order under the elder Soṇaka and became highly accomplished, later teaching Moggaliputta-Tissa the Sutta and Abhidhamma collections.
