တရားအားထုတ်ခြင်းကို တစ်ခုတည်း အာရုံစိုက်နေစဉ် မကုသမီးထားသော မျက်စိရောဂါကြောင့် အမြင်အာရုံ ဆုံးရှုံးခဲ့သော်လည်း၊ မျက်မမြင်ဖြစ်နေဆဲ ရဟန္တာဖြစ်ခဲ့ပြီး၊ နောက်ပိုင်း လမ်းညွှန်နေသော တူဖြစ်သူ လမ်းတွင် စွန့်ခွာသွားစဉ် သိကြားမင်းက အိမ်ပြန်ရန် ဘေးကင်းစွာ လမ်းညွှန်ပေးခဲ့သော၊ သာဝတ္ထိမြို့ မြေပိုင်ရှင်၏ သားတော် ရဟန္တာ။

An Arahant, son of a Sāvatthi landowner, who lost his sight to untreated ophthalmia while single-mindedly pursuing meditation, attained Arahantship despite his blindness, and was later led safely home by Sakka after his escorting nephew abandoned him.
