බෝධිසත්ව තාපසයාගේ මරණාසන්න වචන ‘සඳ එළිය සහ අව්ව’ නම් ප්‍රධාන ශිෂ්‍යයා, සාරිපුත්‍ර හිමියන් ලෙස හඳුනාගත් අය විසින් නිවැරදිව අර්ථකථනය කරන ලද ආකාරය කියන ජාතකයකි. සංකස්ස නගර දොරටුවේදී ප්‍රහේලිකාවක් විසඳීමේ සාරිපුත්‍ර හිමියන්ගේ දක්ෂතාව පෙන්වීමට දේශනා කරන ලදී.
